Terms and Conditions


Any Reservation made with Dewa Tours, the Tour Operator and Travel Agent based in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan will be governed by and subject to these Terms & Conditions. No variation to these Terms and Conditions shall be of any effect unless made in writing by and with the authority of Dewa Tours.

1. Liability

The liability of Dewa Tours is limited and shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any sickness, injury, loss, damage, accident, delay or inconveniences which may occur either by reason of defect, or from any cause beyond the control of Dewa Tours. Dewa Tours can accept no responsibility for the loss or additional expenses due to delay or alteration in schedule or other causes. Dewa Tours and its suppliers reserve the right to cancel or rescheduled any tour itinerary by reasons or whatsoever including but not limited to logistical and other travel arrangement problems that may obstruct the tour operation. If the trip is cancelled, the money received will be refunded in full.

2. Price/Inclusive/Exclusive

Price and tariff quotation are subject to change without prior notice, until a booking has been confirmed. Prices are quoted in US Dollars and all the payments must be paid in US Dollars only.

Package Tour Cost Includes:

1. 35% of royalty and taxes to the government
2. Accommodation on twin sharing basis
3. Transportation within Bhutan
4. Services of guide
5. Meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
6. Tea and Snacks
7. All sightseeing as specified in the itinerary
8. Riding ponies and pack animals on treks
9. Entrance fees to temple and monuments

Cost does not include:

1. Visa fee of US$ 20 per person
2. Laundry bill
3. Phone call
4. Air tickets
5. Drinks and beverages
6. One time payment of US$ 10 each for Tourism Development Fund

3. Payment

All tours must be pre-paid except otherwise stated. Once the tour reservation has been confirmed, Dewa Tours will provide the secure and safer mode of payment.

4. Travel Insurance

Though Bhutan is a peaceful country and crime rate is very low, we still recommend you to purchase adequate travel and medical coverage insurance from your respective country before your departure to Bhutan, including the insurance coverage for the delay or loss of luggage, personal effects and travel documents.

5. Baggage

The following items are exempted from customs duty:

1. Personal effect for day to day use
2. 2 litres of alcohol
3. Instruments, apparatus or appliance for professional use
4. Photographic equipment, video cameras and other electronic goods

The items mentioned in 3 and 4 must be declared on the custom form. If these items are disposed off in Bhutan, they become liable for customs duty. Import and export of arms, ammunitions, explosives, narcotics and drugs, and wildlife products are strictly prohibited.

6. Cancellations

Tour programmes booked and subsequently cancelled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows:

1. Within 30 days of start of programme - free
2. Within 21 days - 10% of rate
3. Within 14 days - 15% of rate
4. Within 07 days - 30% of rate
5. Less than 07 days or without notice - 50% of the rate
6. After arrival in Bhutan - 100%
